English for Medical Professionals
What is English for Medical Professionals?
The English for Medical Professionals (EMP) course at Lexis English is a fast-paced program focusing on the language skills required for students who are working or studying within a medical field. Focusing equally on speaking, listening, reading, writing, and working with ‘real life’ resources such as professional-patient consultations and reports, the EMP program provides targeted, rigorous and challenging study for those pursuing a career in health care.
Morning classes provide a broad area of language skill development, while the afternoon classes focus on skills development in preparation for the Cambridge Occupational English Test (OET). OET is the examination of English for medical purposes widely recognised in Australia and throughout the world.
The Cambridge OET is recognised by professional bodies and universities as an IELTS equivalency exam specifically designed to test the English language level of healthcare professionals. It can be used for professional purposes, for university entrance and for immigration to Australia. Lexis schools are an approved OET test venue.
