Homestay TeachersWe are always looking for new teachers to join our team, especially for the high season (June, July and August). We are looking for teachers who can offer at least 2 weeks in summer, but more weeks are available throughout the year for the right candidates.Successful homestay teachers will enjoy teaching English and hosting international visitors in their home. They will have a professional qualification in teaching, a comfortable home and enthusiasm for sharing their language, culture and location. Many of our teachers have worked in business, industry or other educational fields prior to teaching from home. St Giles New York CityAccounts Clerk/Finance OfficerSt Giles International is seeking an experienced Accounts Clerk / Finance Officer to work in our busy New York school.The main administrative role of the Finance Officer is to oversee the financial management of the school. This will involve making sure that records of expenditure and revenue are recorded accurately, invoices are paid in a timely manner, and that any cash taken by the center is accountable and banked accordingly. The post calls for neatness, accuracy, a clear approach to figure-work, tact, diplomacy, good communication skills and a friendly customer-orientated approach to our clients.Reporting to: Center Director and Group AccountantBased at: St Giles International New York. 330 Fifth Avenue, 8F, New York, NY 10001Normal working hoursThe normal working hours are 08.30-17.00 Monday to Friday with a lunch break of 60 minutes (37.5 working hours per week). Duties:The main duties include, but are not limited to, the following:Posting all receipts into the Class Ledger.Ensuring that the receipting of bank transfers are kept up to date and receipted in a timely manner.Ensuring that all direct students have paid their fees before arrival.Ensuring that agents without special credit terms have paid the full fees before arrival.Chasing students and agents for payment after arrival.Ensuring that the credit control policy is adhered to.Regular reconciliation of agent accounts in cases of under/over-payments.Refunding students / agents in cases of overpayments.Processing agent discount credit notes for students who extend their stay or return.Processing the purchase ledger, ensuring that suppliers and other contractors are paid according to the terms of the invoices.Processing payroll for the staff, ensuring that official policies are adhered to and that staff are paid accurately and on time.Monthly reconciliation of the bank account, ensuring that all transactions are accounted for.Reconciliation of the daily credit card taking.Reconciliation of cash taken daily and banking said cash.Petty cash reconciliation, ensuring the opening and closing amounts balance and that all claims are accompanied by a receipt.Processing of the year end as per the instructions sent by the Group Accountant. Staff members are also expected to become familiar with all aspects of the work of the office, in order to be able to cover for colleagues who are absent on leave or for other reasons, and also to create maximum operational flexibility in the provision by the office of its various services.
