I spent 2 weeks at EC Covent Garden and recommend it without hesitation. This is for me, an example of genuinely effective training accompanied by a dynamic and friendly management. London is absolutely fascinating! It’s a city that never sleeps, so there is no time to get bored. There’s always a new cultural events or trendy and alternative parties.

EC Covent Garden enjoys a privileged location, in the centre of it all. Not far from the centre of Covent Garden, Oxford Street shops and the British Museum. The school is fully renovated and provides modern facilities.

Teaching and learning are very well planned and of good quality. Some lessons were outstanding! It’s very nice to hang out at night on the side of Camden Town, a trendy area with its market and shops. It is a great place to get a cheap dinner in a friendly atmosphere. The best thing to do is obviously to visit the many exhibitions at the museums, and they are often free.

It’s certain that if I come to London to attend language training again, I will choose EC school and especially EC Covent Garden 30+.

As the end of my course here at Covent Garden 30+ is coming up, I would like to say something about my time at EC.

When I arrived at the well-sited school, I was immediately warmly welcomed. All the teachers are very encouraging and have a good sense of humour. Their teaching provided a wide range of topics and methods for learning.

The fact that this branch of EC is focused on students 30 years old and over made the classroom environment more interesting for me. I appreciated being supplied with a wide variety of information of cultural events. I remember in particular attending the “breakfast club”, where we were introduced to different kinds of political, economic and social issues.

The school offered the opportunities to go to several theatres, guided tours and weekend visits to the countryside like Stonehenge. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in London at EC Covent Garden and I would recommend the school to my friends in Switzerland.

I’ve been at EC Covent Garden for 2 weeks and it was a great experience. From the very first day I was so pleased that the teachers were really friendly and truly dedicated as well. They were always doing their best to help me to improve my English. And today thanks to EC teachers, I am more confident about my English speaking skills and my English fluency is way better than it was. I also enjoyed the school itself, which is located in a lovely place where you can find several pubs, restaurants, shops and almost anything you are looking for.

Moreover, being with people over 30 years old was really interesting because we could share everyone’s professional and life experienced inside and outside the classroom, and it’s a very good way to practise English too. So even though the temperature is sometimes really cold outside during the winter time at EC Covent Garden, the atmosphere inside the school is always warm.

Studying English abroad was a challenging experience but I would recommend it to everyone because EC Covent Garden is definitely the best place to learn English!

When I joined EC Covent Garden, my dream came true. I am going through a transitional phrase in my life. I would use three words to describe my experiences at EC Covent Garden. The first word is "lucky". I have met many adult students from all over the world. They have rich and varied experiences and I find it stimulating to talk to them. The second word is "happy". I can have a friendly talk with my fellow students at any time or go out for lunch or a drink. They are always friendly and that makes me happy. The third word is "enjoy". Although studying English can be hard, the overall experiences with my teachers and fellow students make it very enjoyable. Hence it is easier to learn the language.

Having come to London years ago I came back for 3 weeks to refresh my English and this time with EC Covent Garden 30+.

The school staff were extremely helpful answering all my questions, during my stay, to my entire satisfaction. The teachers and also myself loved having active and enjoyable lessons and discussions. By having met many people at school, coming from all over the world, I had lots of interesting and also amusing discussions.

Being at school and participating on their social programs was great fun. Compliments - I received even from Londoner's for my spoken English.

London is just an exciting city, even during winter, theatres, pubs, clubs, exhibitions and sightseeing’s and of course the very friendly and communicative "Londoner" made it a great time.

During one weekend I visited Stratford and Oxford on a guided tour and Stonehenge and Bath on the following weekend as well as the Chinese New Year - unforgettable experiences and having collected many memories.

I will come back for sure and can strongly recommend EC Covent Garden 30+.

I’m studying in Covent Garden for 12 weeks in all. I decided on this school because here I can meet students who are over 30 years old. This allows me to meet other students with the same interests as me outside school.

Every day in the morning I have school with a class and in the afternoon I have private lessons. I like this combination because my teachers can respond to me personally. I’m very happy with my teachers and I think I have learnt a lot in a short time.

I recommend EC Covent Garden 30+, it’s a very beautiful place!

Last week I had to go back to Switzerland and continue with my job... It's been a hard change from EC to my pupils, but I'm still alive! I miss your school and all its people because I enjoyed my stay very much! But I hope I will come back to London to further improve my English and to pass an exam.

My teacher Suzie and all the teachers do a wonderful and very important job. Most of your international students go back to their countries and recommend EC 30+ in Covent Garden, so you become very famous all over the world. Don't be surprised if a lot of Swiss people choose your school in the next years due to my recommendation...!

Thank you for the wonderful time in London! Greetings to Sue, Giorgia, Christina, Kersty, Tom, Didier, Chris and Luca!

A friend pointed out to me, I could improve my English, learn new words, improving the grammar in a very fun and dynamic way. I enjoyed conversation, because I could learn a little from each of the countries of my friends. The lessons were about current issues. The people were very polite and helpful. The staff was patient, friendly and lovable. I will remember my friends, teachers, EC staff, this amazing city, everything!

So far I've been at EC Covent Garden for 7 weeks and I'm staying for another 5 weeks. I've decided to have a break from my life in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to spend some time in London and improve my English. The school is located in one of the best areas in London. The teachers are very dedicated. But my favourite thing about the school is that all the students are over 30 years. It makes a difference, because everybody has the same aim in life and the teachers could prepare the classes based on our best needs. I'm really comfortable to say that EC Covent Garden 30+ and London are an excellent combination for all those who want to improve their English and enjoy their time abroad .. and remember - it is never to late to create new experiences! :)

I chose this destination because I needed to learn English, and I wanted to visit other countries in Europe. I stayed alone in a flat and I have studied here for two months. I will recommend EC to my friends and I'm going to spend 2 weeks more in New York EC school. My favourite activities were with other students because I needed to talk English and I like to talk. For me, the best teachers are Tina, John, Teresa and Matt, but all teachers were very good. I loved the girls in the reception, the directors David and Suzie, and I love the people in the restaurant. I never had a problem here, I'm very satisfied, thank you!

When I decided to improve my English, I wanted to discover London at the same time. EC London 30+ offered me this opportunity, its location at Covent Garden is perfect. After learning six weeks at EC 30+, I came back one month later for four weeks more. I have really appreciated the atmosphere in the school, thanks to the very good teachers, involved staff and students who are 30 years and more. Relationships between students who have come from all over the world has been really rich. We have had a great time during and after lessons. I am going to miss this period of my life. If I have the opportunity to go back to England to go on improving my English, I'll definitely choose EC 30+!

It's very easy to speak about EC Covent Garden 30+ school, everything in just one word: AMAZING. Fantastic organisation, everybody always ready to help you. David, Suzie and Sue, one of the best staff I've ever seen. Simple, precise and human. The teachers...OMG...just incredible! I've never study English and now I can speak, maybe not really well, but I understand and I can make a speech. I like John, Matt, Adam, Georgia and Ben, each of them gave me something. My classmates were fantastic, I met new people from different countries, it was just amazing. Thank you so much for this experience because for me to share it's really important and here I can just study and learn English but the best was to grow humanly. Love you so much!

I chose this destination because I admire the history and culture of London, a city which I hadn’t been to before. I learned to like to study English again. I improved as much as possible in four weeks. The school did the best. I didn’t have time to do many activities, but the best thing is an opportunity to meet and talk with people from other countries. I liked the motivating environment, the method used and the quality of teachers. I also liked my family and friendly reception. I would surely recommend EC to a friend. I made new friends from Switzerland, Italy, Germany, France and Brazil. The school’s staff spread professionalism and a positive energy in the school. I will remember these four weeks in an amazing school that has enriched my life, and I had an unforgettable experience.

I’ve spent 9 weeks with EC 30+ Covent Garden and can just say like all the others: I had a fantastic time. The teachers were able to get to know each student in order teach them to their individual needs within the small classes. The small classes were just perfect so everybody needs to participate and contribute to the lesson given.

You meet lot of people from all over the world at EC 30+. During lessons students get encouraged to exchange and actively communicate with each other – this way you surprisingly learn a lot about the other culture and also a lot about the personal background and experiences of “your partner”. Besides the lessons you have a lot of free time too, so fostering friendships will not come short. The fact that all students were clearly over 30 years old was very comfortable and interesting as all of us has a professional background and uses English in their working environment, which especially was a benefit in the Business Class.

All in all I have to say that the entire staff of EC30+ is putting immense effort in pleasing the students and encourage them to make usage of numerous available EC courses to spend their time in London in the most efficient way to learn the language, they cater to the students academic needs any time (Suzie and David), they encourage social exchange and help to get along in a foreign city such a London (Ludo and Clement), they find suitable homestays and student residences for living - very helpful and quick in corrective action if necessary (Sue and Ludo) and all the teachers who are not only teaching us according to some methodology but also to British culture and the usage of language how natives would use it -which is not always found in a book . The cafeteria staff is always having a smile and after a while they even know the drinking habits of most of the students – they are incredibly efficient when it comes to one of the 15 minutes breaks and almost "100 " students need a coffee, cappuccino, espresso or a hot sandwich at once.

I had serious moments (hello private lessons ;-)) – and also a blast and never-ending laughter during my classes – well done all of you!

Studying in EC Covent Garden was one of the best life experiences I've had. I have studied at other schools in different opportunities but there is no comparison with the extremely effective method I found here. It is worth mentioning that the school is very well prepared to receive students from anywhere in the world, respecting the particularities of each region and country. EC team works with an amazing synergy, where the development of each student is the focus of their work. The teachers are exceptionally competent and well prepared, the staff is friendly, interactive and always very close to the students, the school management is accomplished with much competence and creativity, which makes the school even more formidable than it already is. If you want to develop, to be welcomed and feel safe, EC Covent Garden is the place you are looking for!

I chose this destination because London has many interesting places. I like it, for instance: museums, musical shows, historical places. During my stay here, I’ve learnt a lot of things about people, traditions, and customs. I especially enjoyed the English course. I’ve found friendly and professional teachers with amazing teaching skills. I like everything about topics, listening and speaking lessons. In my opinion, EC Covent Garden is a good college for adult people that want to learn English. Fortunately, I’ve met a good friend from Switzerland. I think I’ll remember this experience as one of the most beautiful of my life. Thanks, many thanks again.

I chose this destination because at the same time I had to follow the lectures in London about my work. I increased my level but not enough to be autonomous, should I stay longer, but I cannot because of work in Italy. I enjoyed a lot of extra activities. I made friends with a lot of nice people. I think that with some of them I’ll be in touch. The staff was always very helpful and considerate. There were very nice people – Suzie, Clement, David and others. The teachers are good at doing their job: Chris, Clare and Benjamin! In particular, I enjoyed the quality of the teachers’ lessons: Matthew, Franklin and Kirsty Watts. Thanks to all.

I already liked Britain even before being there. So going to London was a natural choice. After I studied at EC Covent Garden, I am really sure that I made the right choice. The school is very nice, the teachers are very good, and the staff was helpful. I could improve my English with confidence. I recommend it. I definitely loved the school.

I'm very happy to be here. When I was studying in EC Covent Garden I learned a lot of expressions in English. And I was very happy. If I stay in London longer I would like to study at EC Covent Garden 30+. I'll keep studying English constantly after I'll go back to Korea. Studying at EC has helped. Thank you for teaching and supporting.

September 2014 was the first time at EC Covent Garden. I took a 3 week course. Up until the day of departure, I was not sure if I would go or not. I was still recovering from a burn out and still didn’t feel well. In the end it was the best decision I made. I learned a lot, met a lot of new people and had a lot of fun . Those three weeks at EC were amazing. Even though EC Covent Garden didn’t knew about it I would like to thank them all, all the teachers are very good, especially my teachers Tina and Benjamin, they’re both great. When I came back to Amsterdam, people could finally see the old me again.

February 2015 was the second time I went to EC Covent Garden. This time I went back to prepare for my CAE and CPE exam. I took general English and Intensive class, and it really helped me prepare for the exams. I also took 4 private lessons. I would like to thank Sarah for helping me with preparing for the exams. And I would like to thank my teachers Matt and Georgia. And not to forget Sarah (reception) for motivating me to take the exams in the first place, you rock. And of course the social program, the afternoon tea at Bill’s was amazing.

Facing a new challenge can be nerve racking in many ways. To me, I would say that studying abroad is one of the things we do want to do but when the first day at school arrives each one of us has a personal list full of mixed feelings. But here we are, in London, a great city and for us we can get carried away! So much to see and enjoy...

I had the opportunity to study abroad in the past and because of this I had clear expectations of EC in my first days. But sometimes we don't know exactly what to expect so hopefully this post can help those looking for inspiration and tips!

To start: BE CURIOUS! Look for the meaning of the words in this post you are not familiar with, try to read about the neighbourhood where EC is located, the history of London, look for tips directly from local people and ask as many questions you want for the EC crew! I’ve found them really helpful and nice! So far, so good :)

We are all together in this learning process and I bet you want to leave EC better than when you arrived so let's make this happen. How? Here comes my second point: BE OPEN! Respecting your personality try to be as much open as you feel comfortable with! This helps you listen better, learn from different cultures, can help you connect more easily with people and be in an empathetic environment.

Also I would add one more thing BE HONEST when communicating! Don't be afraid to show a different opinion, bring a new perspective or ask for your teacher to show a different approach during classes! For the teachers and members from EC I had the chance to meet them on my first days and I am sure they will be glad to listen to your demands and work with you to improve everything needed. From a student side I was lucky to be with respectful, nice and generous classmates helping me get better as they were also learning. Hope I am being a good classmates as well. As I mentioned we are all together in this journey. This mind-set could help me, you and all of us have a smooth beginning and bring us energy to pursue our goals! Thanks to everyone for the first few days! Looking forward to my second week with you!

I had to improve my English to work and I wanted to visit London. I learned new words and especially I reviewed what I had learned at school. I had enough time to improve my speaking skills and understand better. I enjoyed the lessons because I wanted to speak English well. There were many people from different countries. My host mother was a kind woman, we spoke a lot together and my accommodation wasn't far from the school. I would definitely recommend EC to a friend.

I had quit my job for 3 months to meet my wife who is working in London. I decided to choose EC after a free trial. I'm here because I need to improve my English and feel more confident to find a job in London.

EC is the perfect way to reach my goal as well as meeting new friends from all over the world. It's a real pleasure to go to school in the morning. Teachers and staff take care of you and there is always an activity to continue your improvement.

I have been benefited from the opportunity to do English training in EC school London, and it has been great to improve my level for my job and my general English. I think this is the best experience I could have to improve my English with an intensive training at EC school London, and to be immersed in the country of the language.

Teachers of EC school give attention, feedback and explanations about your homework and difficulties of oral comprehension. The EC staff has been organising many activities to speak with them and the other international students.
