I consider myself to be a person who is always very passionate and enthusiastic about everything I do, especially when doing the things I love - teaching is one of them. Being creative and resourceful helps me strive towards preparing lessons which are stimulating and fun to deliver because I find that when I enjoy teaching, the students usually enjoy learning. I have been working with EC Malta for the past eleven years and I am very proud to have retained my sanity! The main reasons which attracted me to becoming an EFL teacher were the importance and necessity of human interaction, together with the freedom, creativity and spontaneity of the job which has proved to be particularly challenging and stimulating. As a teacher, one does not only impart knowledge but also part of oneself. Thus, I had the chance to share my enthusiasm not only for language, but also for literature, poetry, drama and music which I try to integrate in my lessons in order to provide students with a more holistic and enjoyable education. Standing in front of a class has also helped me understand the importance of trying to be both an animator as well as an instructor because students learn most when they are having fun! Here at EC I have always been provided with the necessary training, support and resources that are required for us teachers to improve our teaching skills, to understand the needs of our students, and to develop our own individual approach to learning. On a personal level, I firmly believe in life-long learning and in seeing everyday as a new challenge and opportunity for growth. Ultimately, being a teacher with EC is all about sharing knowledge, facilitating learning for others and loving what you do!
